How we helped [X] students successfully re-engage with learning, at The King Edmund School, in Essex
As a secondary academy school in Rochford, in the County of Essex, for students in Year 7 to 13, with a dedicated Sixth Form centre, they believe that every student has the potential to achieve great things.
As part of that mission, Kelly Jacob, SENDCO and English Teacher as KES began looking for a solution back in early 2020 to help support students disengaged with in-class teaching, struggling to get into school, or had educational healthcare plans.
Kelly chose to implement Tute to support, and with the positive feedback from students and parents alike, it’s become a staple within the school throughout the pandemic and beyond, “It’s the whole package.”
“I like the fact that we can adapt the learning for individual children to help fill the gaps in their learning”, says Kelly. “I can call Tute up and say ‘oh, this child is really struggling, can I drop them down to KS2 level?’ and it would happen within hours”, she says. “I’ve never had to chase”.
